It borders China to the north, and Laos and Cambodia to the west. The country has tow low-lying fertile rice producing regions at either end - the Red River Delta in the north and the Mekong Delta n the south. Heavily forested mounted mountain ranges regions.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Econom: Free market orientated economy with ongoing industrialization and building programs. The country is very rich in national resources&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Electricity: Mainly 220 volts , but in some areas 110 volts is also used. Sockets are usually of the two flat-pinned variety.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Climate&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Vietnam is located in both a tropical and a temperate zone. It is characterized by strong monsoon influences, but has a considerable amount of sun, a high rate of rainfall, and high humidity. Regions located near the tropics and in the mountainous regions are endowed with a temperate climate.&lt;br&gt;The annual average temperature ranges from 22?C to 27?C. In Hanoi, the average temperature is 23?C, in Ho Chi Minh City it is 26?C, and in Hue it is 25?C.&lt;br&gt;There are two distinguishable seasons. The cold season occurs from November to April and the hot season from May to October. The difference in temperature between the two seasons in southern Vietnam is almost unnoticeable, averaging 3?C. The most noticeable variations are found in the northern provinces where differences of 12?C have been observed. There are essentially four distinct seasons, which are most evident in the northern provinces&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Vietnam History&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;Vietnam is a nation with thousand years of a glorious history. Archaeological artefacts of the Phung Nguyen, Dong Dau, Go Mun, and Dong Son cultures, especially the Ngoc Lu bronze drums have proved the Vietnam sheltered a developed civilisation even before Christ (Dong Son culture). Besides, the vestiges of the historic period of the Hung Kings have revealed that Vietnam was one of the first countries to be formed.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;History of Vietnam can be divided into three main periods:&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;    Northern Kingdom's domination (208 BC - 939 AD): The period was lasting 1,000 years and was on of the fiercest period of hardship experienced by the different tribal people in Vietnam's history.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;    National construction and defense for independence (939 - 1945): The period was brilliant era of national revival and development. It was marked by the glorious victory of the Vietnamese people against the aggressors.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;    National independence and socialism (1945 until present): The revolution succeeded in August 1945 with the leadership of the President Ho Chi Minh and the Vietnamese Communist Party. The country proclaimed its independence on September 2, a date that later became Vietnam's National Day. During the following 30 years, the Vietnamese people continued to resist and protect their independence. Vietnam has been unified since the great victory over the Americans in spring 1975.
