However (maybe it's just my head here), I could swear the fan appears to be responding now to the temperature of the netbook. If it isn't working for you, you could still install the 3rd party fan control application for Windows.

Re: Instructions for updating the Acer Aspire One BIOS

Thanks for the info, excellent article.

Re: Instructions for updating the Acer Aspire One BIOS

Thanks for this detailed guide. It might already be in the proper boot order but it’s a good thing to check anyhow. Make sure the first boot option is the hard drive (unless of course you always want the netbook to check the USB flash drive first).

Re: Instructions for updating the Acer Aspire One BIOS

thanks for a wonderful share. Thank you! Your directions were wonderful. I got nowhere with Acer other than they were going to send me a new battery, but I don't think that would have been a longterm solution.

Re: Instructions for updating the Acer Aspire One BIOS

This is my fifth PC in about as many weeks. Plugged it in and all looked OK reporting 100% battery charge. But when mains was turned off it just died. Found various sites and this looked easiest to follow. Flashed the BIOS from 3301 to 3309 following these excellent instructions. After a couple of reboots and second thoughts (as whilst BIOS had changed battery still reported 100% and problem remained), system sorted itself out and battery is charging up from 0% and it remains on when unplugged!

Many thanks

Re: Instructions for updating the Acer Aspire One BIOS

You're a genius!
