The performance of the Acer Aspire 1410 is quite good considering it is a thin and light notebook but there was a bit slowdown but it didn't get too frustrating. Windows 7 OS isn't too resource hungry so this factor too contributes to the good speed. The six cell battery inside lasted for a little less than two and half hours.

We just wish Acer bundled a higher-capacity battery with the 1410."
The battery life only 6 hours, enough for me.

i have this laptop and am currently using it. watching videos on hulu is a complete disaster... even in 360p the video quality lags. when watching videos on youtube, i have to wait longer than the actual video for it to buffer completely, which can be over 10 minutes to watch 5 or so minute video. And the lack of a cd-dvd drive is a pain in the a** too... i was wondering if you could suggest a better processor and possibly a good external cd-dvd drive for this laptop. I have been hoping to use a capture card with my laptop, and a cd drive is absolutely nessasary to install the software...
